Innovation upgrade! New H3C servers compatible with Intel ® xeon ® 6-Performance Core Processor

On September 26th, Intel released the all-new Intel ® xeon ® The 6900P series processor, released this time, is the successor to the new generation Xeon in June this year ® The Performance Core, another branch product of the 6 series, has better AI performance than general-purpose CPUs and can provide better support for AI inference and end-to-end AI application acceleration. As an Intel ® An important partner, H3C UniServer R3900 G7 server under Tsinghua Unigroup, has completed timely adaptation and upgrade, achieving a two-fold improvement in general computing performance and calmly handling a wide range of workloads.

Keeping up with the times,

empowering AI workloads with higher performance

New Intel ® xeon ® A 6-performance core processor with up to 128 cores per channel, achieving higher density computing performance and scalability, making it an ideal choice for compute intensive, vector based workloads such as AI.

  • Each kernel has AI acceleration function, Intel ® Advanced Matrix Expansion (Intel) ® AMX can accelerate the inference speed of int8 and BF16, and provide better support for models trained with FP16 accuracy (int8 has a speed of up to 2048 FLOPS, BF16/FP16 has a speed of up to 1024 FLOPS).
  • The use of faster DDR5 memory and multi merge array MRDIMM significantly improves memory throughput. Compared with RDIMM, the memory bandwidth has increased by more than 37%, and the expected data transfer rate is as high as 8800MT/s.
  • Each channel has up to 128 cores and a third level cache of up to 504MB, enabling access to large amounts of data from the third level cache with low latency. It is an ideal choice for computationally intensive workloads such as AI, scientific computing, and data services.

Continuous evolution

innovative design reshapes the future of computing power

With the continuous improvement of CPU computing power, the single channel architecture of servers replacing the existing multi-channel architecture will become the mainstream in the industry. The H3C UniServer R3900 G7 server adopts an innovative single path design, which can comprehensively eliminate the loss of computing power caused by UPI latency and effectively reduce the impact of single point failures on overall business. Single channel systems have higher computing power density and lower overall power consumption, effectively reducing TCO for customers while also complying with national environmental policy requirements.

Within a 2U space, it can support 4 dual width GPUs and 1 dual width DPU, meeting diverse computing power requirements, efficiently relieving CPU load pressure, and achieving flexible deployment from data centers to edge scenes. The front hard drive and I/O module can be flexibly configured to meet the diverse operational and maintenance needs of customers. With the support of Power Corridor power bus technology, the CPU core power path loss is effectively reduced by about 29%, providing intelligent green computing power for scenarios such as cloud, AI, and scientific computing.

Computing power, as a key driving force in the AI era, is accelerating the reconstruction of the digital world. As a market leader, New H3C Smart Computing has consistently ranked among the top two in the Chinese server market for 14 consecutive quarters. Looking towards the future, New H3C Group will uphold the concept of “cultivating practicality and endowing the times with wisdom”, continuously work with partners such as Intel to create smarter, stronger, more efficient, and greener intelligent computing power, and empower digital transformation for customers in various industries.
